Communications and the Information age

Realtors spend thousands of dollars a year on Blackberrys, Treos, websites, pagers, Front Desk personnel that can have you paged 24 hours a day. All in the effort to be contactable "just in case" some business comes their way.

So why does no one return phone calls?

It's pretty bad when I have to omit the fact that I'm a Realtor when paging or leaving a message for another Realtor to call me back for whatever reason. That way, they think I'm a potential client and sometimes return my call very quickly. They're pissed that they wasted the call talking to another "Agent" but at least I might have the answer I need to do the best job for my Client.

Needless to say, this trick usually only works once.
